About Us

When deciding who to vote for, voters should be well informed of who’s on the ballot and how they plan to enact policy for the citizens it wants to represent.  Black Ohio Leaders For Democracy (BOLD) is committed to educating voters about candidates on all levels of the ballot.  Those who are fighting for everyone’s right to vote and the issues that matter to them and those who are not. When candidates aren’t fighting for us, we won’t stay silent. 

In 2020, a small group of black leaders and activists reached thousands of voters across in Ohio, which helped to usher in candidates that swept the nation and won control of the US Congress and a tied US Senate. Here in Ohio, their mobilization led to the election of candidates like Jennifer Brunner to the Ohio Supreme Court bench.

Black Ohio Leaders for Democracy reaches out to voters by text message, mail or door to door. If you hear from us, we hope it helps motivate you to cast a ballot in hopes of electing candidates who will represent your best interest in government.
